GUI (Graphical User Interface) is important because;
1. GUI enables efficient interaction through control – GUI inspires confidence in a user, especially when it is consistent and clear.
2. GUI improves user productivity – GUI requires much less cognitive ability which reduces the cognitive load. This along with the fact that GUI captures user attention contribute to improved user productivity.
GUI came as the alternative to Text User Interface (TUI), the interface that is used in Command Line Interfaces (CLI) like Terminal in Linux and Command Prompt & Powershell in Windows.
